I’ve heard it said many times before that many K-pop fans are manga and anime fans who have found out where the real-life anime characters live. This is quite possibly very true and the same can probably be said for fans of otome fans as well, but it wasn’t until I first saw Jeonghan that I realised just how true this statement is. Looking like a high school prince straight out of the pages of a manga, Jeonghan with his long hair and flawless features is as angelic as his nickname suggests.

When I first saw him I felt like I’d seen him before, it didn’t take me long to work out where I thought I’d seen him before and apparently I wasn’t the only person who had that thought seeing as I found these comparisons on google.

Please take a moment to appreciate just how much Jeonghan resembles Aya Kamiyama, a basketball player from an awesome and sweet manga called Haru Matsu Bokura.

Aside from being prettier than I could ever be, Jeonghan is one of the oldest in the group and, though he cares for his members unconditionally and looks after his younger brothers (DK especially) he is also known to be very playful earning him the nickname ‘Eldest Maknae’. Exceedingly modest, despite his angelic voice, Jeonghan is always aiming higher, he thinks he is one of the weakest in the group (though I entirely disagree, I don’t think there is a single weak member) and is determined to work harder for his team.

The other members have voted him as ‘best personality’ because of his friendly and funny nature, caring attitude and cheerful demeanour. Though sometimes he seems quiet he assures his fans that he isn’t always that way. Despite some of his more delicate traits and features, Jeonghan has very broad shoulders and is a keen sportsman.

Picking him out from the crowd

Here’s the fun bit! Anyone who is  a fan of k-pop knows that there is simply no point in using a hair style or make up style to try and identify a member as they change them like they change their clothes so I will focus on facial features and give you a quick run down of his outfits from a couple of M/Vs / performances to make it a little easier for you to find this anime prince in the future.

It goes without saying that Jeonghan’s trademark long hair is the most obvious thing to look for when trying to identify him however, should he change his hair, there are a few other things you can watch for. Jeonghan’s face is almost entirely symmetrical and his smile reveals perfectly straight teeth. Jeonghan has quite delicate hands and wrists which you can see when he dances, this is another good thing to look out for.

Mansae M/V

For the Mansae Promotions, Jeonghan’s hair was dyed a cool shade of Blue/grey which looks almost silver in certain lights making him pretty easily identifiable. Sometimes he wears it pulled back into a loose low ponytail and sometimes it is just worn loose. In the Mansae video Jeonghan sports a few different outfits, first is the uniform.

In his uniform he can be seen playing the role of Anime Prince very well as he reads a book surrounded by girls.

Jeonghan’s second outfit features in his scenes with the other members of the vocal unit, it is a crisp white shirt under a buttoned up dark cardigan.

The final outfit features another buttoned up cardigan but in grey this time with a shirt and tie underneath.

Now onto:

Adore U M/V

Jeonghan’s hair is a little shorter in the Adore U M/V but still just as pretty. He has it dyed a warm brown colour and looks positively angelic in the three white outfits that the boys have donned for this video. The video uses clips from three separate dance sequences all of which feature Jeonghan in some way shape or form so lets talk about his varying outfits.

The first of the three dance sequences has been filmed in a clean, empty room that looks like it might be a practice studio or a classroom. In these scenes Jeonghan can be seen wearing a white button up shirt with a name badge as though it is a lab coat, his hair is pulled back into a loose ponytail at the nape of his neck.

The next dance sequence has been shot in a large, expansive white studio which has been given a pinkish glow. In these clips Jeonghan has his hair down but the shorter front pieces have been pulled back into a little bun at the back of his head to keep them out of his eyes giving him a very sweet and innocent look. He is sporting a loose, sheer, white jumper with mid length sleeves and a white vest underneath with white jeans.

Finally, the boys can be seen dancing on a virtual cloud 9 and Jeonghan is suited and booted with a white suit jacket, crisp white shirt and matching white waistcoat, every bit the perfect gentleman.

Additionally, Jeonghan can also be seen driving his vocal unit kids across a desert in their individual scenes whilst Woozi plays with his hair, something I am sure many people are dying for the chance to do.
