Seventeen, with their abundance of members, fantastically choreographed dance routines and self-produced songs are definitely the ones to watch as 2015 becomes 2016. Tearing through the charts and many a fangirl’s heart these sweet guys are being championed as the ‘next big thing’. Watch this space.

Seventeen is huge even by K-Pop standards with a grand total of 13 members. At debut the eldest member was 20 (Korean age) and the youngest only 16 (Korean age), making them even more remarkable.
The boys got their first taste of the spotlight and were first revealed to the public back in 2013 when Pledis Entertainment decided to stream several episodes of a series that they called 17TV. The show served as a chance for fans of Pledis’ other acts to get a sneak peek at the new trainees and has become a much loved insight into the training lives of this playful bunch.
Following the success of 17TV, as Seventeen neared debut Pledis announced a reality show which would air on MBC Entertainment, ‘Seventeen Project: Big Debut Plan’. This show would run through May 2015 finally reaching it’s climax with an hour long debut show for Pledis’ newest act, a record breaking feat which quickly gained the boys a lot of attention for all of the right reasons.
If there are only 13 members then why are they called Seventeen? Well you wouldn’t be strange for asking, I asked the same question! However there is sound logic in the choice of name (and it’s not just because they originally planned to have 17 members!)
